The holiday season is the perfect time to bring out your creative side, and what better way to do so than with a crochet Christmas tree ornament?
When I was a young girl, my grandparents started the family tradition of making and gifting us a handmade Christmas ornament for each birthday and Christmas.
This prompted me to start making them for my own grandkids. I’ve designed ten crochet Christmas ornaments so far and have many more planned!
These mini Christmas ornaments also make great DIY Christmas Gift Tags! Pair the cute glass of milk with either a chocolate chip cookie, sugar cookie, or plate of mini cookies.
Customization Ideas
- Add Cookies: Crochet a mini plate of cookies to pair with the milk glass. Attach them as a set for a whimsical touch.
- Use Glitter Yarn: Sparkly yarn or metallic thread can give the ornament a magical, Christmassy effect.
- Name Personalization: Customize the ornament with the recipient’s name instead of “Santa.”

Yarn
I used Lion Brand Yarn Pound of Love for my milk for Santa crochet Christmas ornament. It’s a worsted weight, 100% acrylic yarns. The main reason I chose this yarn is because the colors were perfect for crochet mini Christmas ornaments.
Other worsted weight yarns can be substituted. I used a scrap of yarn for the little blue crochet straw.
